maxx grinder

Recently I bought a Maxx Grinder. Due to the shape and size of the grinding clamp, I can see no good way to check depth gauges when chain is on grinder.how does anyone else do it? Also, FYI, I found you can get CBN wheels from Folley for $75. My old chain sharpening shop says about 300 chains to a wheel.

I have a 2X2 about 2foot long with a groove cut in it to match my chain gage, then I put in to the vice to check it. With it laying flat and in the groove I will check and file to the height that I want, then put it back on the grinder and set to that height. They are all set the same and ready to go in a sort time.
