Hello Folks, I may be in the market for a Homelite XP-1000 or XP-1020, or even a 1050, preferably a XP-1020. Looking for one with a rim drive sprocket in good condition that runs alright, and doesn't leak any fuel or bar oil. Doesn't have to look pretty as long as it runs good. Plan on spending $100 to $150 dollars or so. Email me directly at [email protected] or send me a private message here. Thank you for your time, and everyone have a safe, happy, and joyous New Year! smcowboy

Good luck on your search. I have an xp1000 and yse it quite a bit. I am always suprsed by its power and reliability, especially on an older saw.(starts real easy to). Both rebuild kits for the carb are still available. Also I believe most of the chassis components from the c series saws(pretty easy to find parts saws)will interchange.

lotsa old saws,most running,some dirty

1000 or xp1020 Homelite

I may be willing to pay a little more than $150 for a 1000 or XP 1020 if it's in nice condition. Keep the replys coming. [email protected] is my email for those of you who want to get rid of one of them old Homey delights. Take care all, and Thank you! smcowboy1974

P.S. Also off the topic: Do you think a Homelite C-71 in good running condition will handle a 30" bar with .404 full skip chain in hardwood. (oak)

Hey Smcowboy I have ac-51 (77cc) and it does ok on hardwoods with the bar (19 inch)buried if I dont push it.The c-71 is 80cc so it's a little bigger and also could be had new with a 30inch bar from the factory. So you would probably be alright with the c-71 though I would think that the xp1000 is better for a 30" bar in hardwoods.

I am in the process of identifying these two.

I have a c-52 with 135 lbs cyl pressure and I can bury a 30" sprocket nose in maple with a 3/8 skip. I also have a 1020 xp. power head only. beutiful paint. it currently has an 18" pipe but I still have the stock muffler and cover.

Looks like a 2100 and a 1050 or 2000 to me.QUOTE]

They should be 1050's They are not 2000's or 2100's. The 1050 has the spark plug on the right whereas the 2000 and 2100 have the plugs on the left. It is easy to see the difference between the two when you look at the recoil cover. The 2100 has a different cover than the 1050 or the 2000. The 2100 and 2000 have carb adjust screws on the left sid for their tillotson carb. The 1050 uses a Walbro and uses chrome carb adjust covers as seen in the pics. Finally the 2000 and 2100 have a decomp.
