Im looking for parts for my 895 restore project.
1) Gas cap complete with valve and filter
2) spike, something with some Meat

Good luck as those are parts folks hate to part with. That 895 is a very worthy saw though. The cap can come from any old 200 and up saw. EBay has the standard spike which is still pretty aggressive.

I have been on ebay more than i would like, lol but thats all part of the rarety of this little gem. i have gone thru the entire saw and she is very lightly used.all but the diaphram worked, not bad for not running for the past 30 years, but new carb gaskets are on the way.. So after hitting the paint shop, she is almost new condition, have to finish the bar and chain, i noticed the bar on this one says pro. just looks diffent than most i have seen. but for my second saw im glad it was mostly complete.

Excellent looking saw, great job. You still have the 895 emblem on the top cover, that is very hard to find. Most 895's, got used up and seem to be much harder to find than the 890's around here in the PNW. I've had five 890's but only two 895's.

Nice work on the 895. What paint did you use on the black
filter cover and top fuel tank. And which carb do you have,
the Mac Flatback or the Tillotson. The later 895's had the
Tillotson which make for a much better running saw. Those
saws are much harder to find. I'm lucky to have found two.

Lee

I am building one this winter Lee. I have a very strong standard 797 and a donor 890 2:1 gearcase. Then I have a nice older Cannon 72" bar for it.

I wished mine looked like that. The repainted saws sell for more on Ebay than the original painted ones most of the time. That is as long as the job was consistent with the original scheme.

Painted saws can go either way. My self i would buy a painted saw as i have no idea as to
well it was done and type of paint. I like restoring my own saws. The only ones that get a
full paint and restoration are ones that are in really tough shape.

Yours looks very nice.

Here is the best thing about this bar :)

Says its made in canada ;)

Btw is there any way to restore this bar without damaging the painted decal?

The decal on the filter cover is not the aluminum type.
It is a sticker.
What do you need to see in the muffler area? The mufflers
on these are the square type that was used on all the 795's,
797's and 895's.
