25’ of straight log left after this 10’ was done. This one is for me. 23”-24” DBH

Making a long table out of it and a bench to match for my HAM Radio station. The rest i may sell. I have a listing posted to see who wants what at what thickness bla bla bla. Ther has been no takers at all. For weeks. Its gona be hard to let this sit and wait. I want to mill it🤣.

Got 7 boards not including the top and bottom pc. Bottom pc that is thicker will be the long bench seat.

Moving them into the basement today with the dehumidifier. Plan to keep the basement at about 60%.

Hi U&A,
Could I trouble you for a few more photos of your ladder guide? The end that hooks to the end of the log, do you use double headed nails or what to attach?
The end part with the rungs cut out puzzles me. It looks like it might be pretty floppy. I have a ladder ready to go! When you get over 10' or so what do you set up?
God bless,
Mike Rock

Any suggestions on end sealers? I planned to do that asap. Stopping at the hardware store on the way home from work to get SOMETHING on them.

@MikeRock
Ill get with ya this evening man. Happy to help. The ladder setup still needs work but ill be happy to share with ya

Just mill what you want to sell to either 4/4 or 5/4.

Sorry for the late reply; I was away from my computer today.
Most buy Anchorseal End Sealer. One gallon pails are a little expensive with shipping direct from the manufactuer (name escapes me) but 5 gallon pails are economical. I only had one small log to do so I bought a gallon of Rockler Green Wood End Sealer from Rockler Woodworking store. Fairly cheap but thinner than Anchorseal. Spreads easier with a brush and I always use 2 coats lapping it up about 2 inches all around.
Once I had 10" and less wide boards so I just dipped them in melted wax.

Thanks!! I have an Alaskan Jr. that I got in 1975/6. The nice old three roller design, can cut 36".
God bless

Greenwood end sealer from “Rocklers Woodworking “
It’s a waxy emulsion you brush on green wood.
