It is now been 6 months and I have not been able to reach him for at least 3 months so it is be sold for the bill. This saw has had the low end rebuilt and the top end has had a stage II conversion done to it. Price is $455 plus shipping

I will be in the shop till way late tonight so feel free to give me a call it you are interested.

this saw nips on the heals of the 066

thats what interested me, I want a couple 440 or 460`s to mess with since I bought two big bore kits from a local shop, but for that price who could resist a saw from you.

For those interested, I have posted a brief review in the Chainsaw Forum.

Understand that the saw was sold for the price of the bill.
Low end rebuild $180 bearings, seals, gaskets, Labor
Modifications $275 Stage II
that did not include the saw that was donated

Any idea where you'd get a full wrap handle for the 044??? Haven't been able to find one outside the dealer and I don't really like that one... You guys make'em there?

Madsen's has 'em. They've got aftermarket (if you're not into factory Stihl) full and 3/4 (factory style) wrap. I've got one (the USA brand aftermarket) on my 460 and 361.

I'm still ticked I missed this 440!

Cheapstihlsawparts has a dozen or so... of the oem (is it 3/4 or full?) version. I picked one up a few days ago (he's local to me, but Ebay store to you)... Lot's of full wrap (west coat thing :)) , no half, but the half is cheap to get though Baileys.
