Modified Mufflers

Is there anyone selling new mod. mufflers out there ?

I am specifically thinking of installing on 026 & 044 models.

You don't need a muffler for the 044, merely the "magnum" front cover.  Search the site for the term.

Getting your saw "walkerized" increases your HP by 1/2hp.
What's the point?

On a 026/260, that is a 15% power increase & better cooling for $30.00 - $40.00 Not that bad a return on your $$.

I agree, 1/2HP on a 150HP car is peanuts, 1/2 HP on a 3.5-5hp saw is a decent increase!

Exactly! A 15% increase for 30 bucks is a great thing - I wish I could do that on my pick-up!

Walkers does the best job on mufflers then even myself, and I'm pretty darn good.
I have a torque chart somewhere from Walkers when they worked on my 026 Arctic.
A Walkers saw is not as fast as what other resident saw builders make here, but they sure do the trick.

Hi John,

Stihl make real good saws and Walkers I am sure do great mod work, as good as both these are, a 36 inch bar & chain an 026/260 will not pull in a log especially the one pictured in your post.

However its nice to have dreams!
