I have a late model non-Pro 026 in near mint condition that I want to free up a little. I'm looking at putting a muffler and cover from an MS260 on it. It sounds like the air filter is the 026's weakest link. Can I do this on an 026 with the non-adjustable carb? Additionally, could I get away with drilling just one extra hole in the baffle?

Thanks in advance.

According to this video, all this mod requires on a late-model 026 with the new-style tank vent is to plug one hole in the 260 filter. Does anyone know if this mod can safely be done with a non-adjustable carb? I'm hoping I can also open the muffler up just a little and get by with the stock carb. Any thoughts?
