Muffler for a 346XP NE build

It looks like there are two style choices for 346XP saws.
I used a pipe design on my 346XP OE build, but thought thought that the top exhaust style might be open to modification.
That said, the top exhaust design seems to be a little rough on the top cover.
What are your thoughts?

My 2152 is showing no ill effects from the top exhaust.
I bought a China muffler to replace the cat muffler. It is exteriorly nearly identical.

If you go with the top deflector, just open it up back under the deflector so it doesn't fire straight up. Anytime I've seen damage it has been when the top cover is pressed down into the defelector.

The side outlet pipe style is called the jungle muffler, i put one on my 350 and it helped, sounds nice and has more velocity to push the exhaust out further vs diffusing it.
