Hi All
Time for an identify the saw thread
I know post pic's:dizzy:But at this time i don't have the know how to do it and haven't been able to get my daughter to show me,and she who must be obeyed still has me finishing our home, and wouldn't help till we are moved in:msp_rolleyes:
Anyhow i picked up a lot of saws from the scrapyard,31 total. In this lot were a real mixture of odds and ends,6 Mcculloch.2 crappy homeowner 35cc,610 brick,MinnyMac,SP81 and the last unknown Mac.
It's bigger than the 81,right hand recoil, and these numbers on the bottom of the block
740 C1350
840

C20
I looked on The collectors site, and couldn't tell which one, looked like a 55,or similar to a 797 with any luck.
Thanks Thomas

A 740/840 will look like a 797. Engine inside is not as legendary, but they are share the same external parts.

As PM850 said, it will look the same as all the "large frame" Macs.

It is a 740 if direct drive, 840 if it has a gear box.

Usually one of the numbers is crossed out from the factory....but the gearbox will tell the story.

Nice find!
