I'm trying to resurrect an old Stihl 020 I found in a workshed up at the cottage. Its missing a part - I believe an adapter or something? Its a small funny shaped steel ringlike/circular piece that Stihl apparently no longer makes.
A little history - found the saw that hasn't been used in about 10 years. Managed to get it going so I took it in to the local Stihl dealer for a service. He mentioned this piece (adapter?) was defective that he'd need to order one from company (said to cost around $150!). Heard back that this part is no longer in production, at least not for this particular saw. Anyways, the shop cant do anything for the saw as they've said they cant get it going without it (??).
Based on my admittedly shoddy description of this piece - anyone have any idea where I might get my hands on one??
It'd be a real shame to toss this beauty!!
