I found a 3 or 4 lb axe head in the dirt on a job site. I already have an 8 lb fiberglass handled maul, a lightweight (2 1/2 lb ?) axe on a 28 inch handle, and a hatchet along with felling wedges.
Should I just put another 28 inch handle on this freebie axe head? Or would I have a more complete & useful collection if I put an 18 inch kindling axe handle on the new head? I find myself making kindling alot with the 28 inch lightweight axe, not with the hatchet. But that long handle makes it tough to connect with pieces of wood that are already real thin. So I'm leaning toward a shorter kindling axe.
