I used to have the same hobby in the late 1980s - and a bit into the 1990s!
I mostly used Fibatube/Hardy blanks, but also some G. Loomis and Fenwick ones (+ some cheaper ones, but then it really wasn't worth the work involved).
It's definately a lot of work, but fun.
