New (to me) Stihl 036

I didn't need it given I already have a 361, but curiosity got the better of me. It's a non-pro, no decomp version with adjustable oiler and was advertised as "good strong saw, you won't be disappointed ". Boy was that ever true, this thing kills! With a 16" bar and full chisel RSC chain this baby was ripping through some green Syzygium (Australian hardwood) like it was butter. My 361 with the 20" bar is no slouch, but the 036/16" combo just feels so right. And it starts and runs so easily. I think it's my current favourite saw, but in saying that I realise it's honeymoon period.

Tonight I fired up my buddy's 36. Sounds and feels great. Going to fix it up a bit for him.

I like the balance on mine with a 20" bar. They just feel right.

I had a 361 Arctic and really liked that saw. The antivibe was perfect. I have a regular 361 too (as well as an 036 and 362) and it's not as nice.

Would still have it but someone trespassed at the shop and stole it.

Here is one of mine after R + R w/new 20" ES bar and RS chain.

It was a freebee, with a straight gas history. I put $200 into it w/new OEM piston and the B/C pictured.

It is so nice on small stuff and limbing.
