Good morning Tim, another question (no good deed goes unpunished)...

I found an IPL in my files for the Micro XXV series saws that calls out 48032 for the 6 tooth 3/8 LP drum/sprocket and found one on eBay for about $28 shipped, does this sound right to you?

Mark
Sorry I didn't see this post.

530048032 is a micro drum. There are a few different PN's for those sprockets. I believe they all interchange. A more common PN is 530069166.

There is also one that has a brazed on rim like some of the MAC sprockets. Not common though 530058074.

The old IPL's have 5 digit PN's. It's always best to search by adding 5300 as a prefix to those PN's.

Posted this a day or so ago for someone in MO to grab on my chainsaw repair FB group. Guy was going to go grab it but someone offered 100 to hold till weekend for them. So see where it turns up next.

Just the parts are worth that to the right guys wanting to do the poulan made by dolmar saws. I never cared for these myself after running one back in 2005ish time frame. But I do like all that lime green.

Guy was posting it on my FB group yesterday that he got it.

PP305 Question: Quit running like it was out of fuel. Had fuel, but I filled the tank, still no start. Has good compression. Today I dumped the gas and checked the fuel line. I had replaced it a couple months ago. It looks fine, and has a filter on the end. Checked spark to plug, and has spark. Pulled the plug, and tested spark at the plug. The plug sparks. Put in a new plug, still no start. Choke works. I am not familiar with this particular type PP. Where would you guys go next to determine the problem?

The rest of the story:
I have not run this saw since I inherited it maybe 15 yrs ago. Had 22 mature trees blow down over winter. Only God know how many immature trees they took down with them. Been trying to work them up as time permits. My dad bought this saw to let the yahoos he hired trim trees and cut firewood. The last two were dumber than rocks. Dumber than dumb and dumber. I called them dumber and dumbest. Alcoholic druggies... The PPs managed to survive them. Anyway when I got this saw and the PP220, I dumped the gas and put them away until I needed them for something. That was 2008. This spring, I pulled this one out, replaced the fuel line, put in gas and oil and it fired up and ran like a champ. Until a few days ago.

Thanks in advance!
Replace the impulse line. Known to rot crack etc.

Echo oem 3x6 or even 3x5.

It’s not the counter Vibe series I love but it is the nicest 306 I’ve seen in person. It looks to have been used very little. It cranked and ran but had a carb leak so I shut it off .

Couple nice finds. NOS chain brake covers 330 380 etc etc.

Oh I ordered 40 crank seals like used for the 2700 2800 3300 365 3500 330 3450 380 etc etc. Just in case someone else might need. I was down to 7 left.
Mostly showing NLA except for 1 here and there. But found some at a distributor. The go between from poulan to dealers. Now to see if they can actually fill the order.

I might need a set of those seals, if your order goes through.

There is a back up plan. There is a guy that works on boat motors. He found a seal that matches oem specs pretty close.
So he sent some to a guy in my CR group. He is going to install in a saw and test out to see.

That would be me. He should have gotten them yesterday. Here are a couple other pics. Poulan seal is on the left.

bought a 5400 on weekend
needs top cover and piston
what are chances of finding these?
its not here yet, but supposedly runs w/120 comp
have seen piston pic
i wanted it for fullwrap on it for my 5200, but it may as well run too
parting it is the other option
I found a top cover for mine pretty easy , I've never seen a piston for one ? Unless there's a LRB option.

ok, first one first.

Picked up this really clean older model wildthing 40cc.

First question, would this be a series 1?

Also, some dimwit in the past over tightened the bar nuts and pulled one of the studs through the housing enough for it to start cracking out behind the backer plate. should I change out the chassis (I have a red craftsman one in good shape) or just leave it alone and run it? It doesn't seem to leak bar oil.

2375 is the good one. 42cc non strato. Later was listed as 40cc and strato crap.

I've had them come in pulled and cracked. They worked fine and didnt leak. I also seen where pulled through and wasnt usable. Your choice really. I only get 50 running cutting with those local so its a labor thing if your going to switch to keep.

If it has the 3 screws and not the center bolt they will interchange. Except for the 6900 7700 8500 they are different.
I went back and read the original post and wanted to say well done finding a 5400, to me they are the best. Bigger fuel tank and a starter that has better screws holding it on. The 1/4" socket head is much stronger. They also have a better choke knob.
