I just bought a PP5020AV for $50.It looks to be in really good shape & has low hrs.from what I've been told. The owner said he bought it from the original owner who used it once, then he bought it & used it once.He threw a small log & it hit the handle which broke the OPL.Since there are no replacements available for the OPL,I bought an entire handle assembly complete with AV springs & screws for $20.I'll see what's involved with just replacing the OPL first before replacing the whole shebang.

Something that has been brought to my attention that I noticed when looking over. The poulan 655 boost port piston itself.
See how made on BP side and has the blocked flat side wrist pin.
So is the regular 655 pistons made different then this?

That new looking 2005 295 had that dang bubbling oiler syndrome.

Went through it with common fix without putting money buying new parts in a plastic cased saw.

So compared 2005 to the stuff on the 94 2700. Seen some difference where newer wasnt better. So did some part swapping.

Well she oils now.

This was before put the to long 20" bar IMO in the hardwood buried. Was just making sure oiled good.

Picked up this silly little poulan the other day. Gassed it up and it was a runner. Almost no info on them on the web. Anybody else seen one ?

Not in my shop but have seen for sale before. I dont mess with those. They dont go for much at all. https://www.acresinternet.com/cscc....85a1af0f6b1e38ec88256f770014a0a3?OpenDocument

They were like the jred 370. Built in Canada. https://www.acresinternet.com/cscc....677b598bd9401f0988256b6a0000c663?OpenDocument

Also I'll save your pics in my thread on them. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/poulan-pro-215/msg86841/#msg86841

I have a NOS PP215 370 cylinder and piston set too.

Do you like it? I was thinking about bidding on that as I hadn’t seen one before. Glad I didn’t run it up on you.
I like how weird looking it is. Bout the only reason I grabbed it. Looks to be easy to work on for bieng a little saw. Had it apart in about 5 mins.

NOS cylinder is the Jonsered 380 370 , Poulan 215 , Husqvarna 38 33
No piston. Thought I had matched set.

UPS showed up with the Poulan 5020AV.The OPL was broken & jammed the throttle trigger so it couldn't throttle up.I took 4 screws out that hold the 2 handle halves together, pulled out the broken OPL & it works great! I had to turn out the lo needle about 1/8-1/4 turn & now there's no more hesitation. The only thing is it's missing one of the bar stud nuts.I'll look & see if I have one here that'll work.It sounds pretty awesome. Not bad for a $30 saw that's been used twice.

I bought one of those new back in 2013. It was on amazon or another online retailer. I want to say it was 169 shipped.

IMO back then was the best plastic saw for the buck back then. Had a husky 450 to compare too and 5020 was just a much cheaper made version of it using different crank, piston, cylinder etc etc.

Compared it to a bunch and even put a 325 set up on it. Liked it with the 16" 3/8 best.
