Friends purchased a Norfolk Pine Tree from Walmart. Can this be planted outdoors in Central Illinois. The tag only says that tree is best planted indoors as an indoor Christmas tree and needs high humidity.

Thanks

The Norfolk Island Pine is semi-tropical. It will freeze back at 35-40 degrees, and will die if exposed to below freezing temps. There are a few here in Orlando, most freeze out about every 5 years or so. They grow really well in South Florida. I've seen them 60+ feet high.
