I have the opportunity to buy this Century stove for 300.00

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on it? It says it has secondary tubes, new firebrick, and I think it would work well in my 1600sq ft home.

Im looking for objective opinions, please. Not just" its a piece of crap" without explanations and reasons...

Thanks so much.......Its hard to believe the heating season isnt too far away...

you need to look inside the unit above the the secondary tubes, if possible remove or at least shift around the high temp insulation board ( if those are busted up it isn't that hard or costly to replace) so that you can see the steel baffle above that to make sure it is not warped real bad or cracked. I have a similar stove here (not that mfg though) and used it for about 8 years, at this point I need to replace the steel baffle above the tubes, not difficult for me a I have the equipment to do it, as it is warped and possibly split really tough to see. It requires removal of the top of the unit. Not something the avg. person can do. Other than that it was a very good stove at the time ( country comfort, made stateside out west, no longer in stove business parent company still around) I heated a 1000sq ft trailer(early 80's) with it, could drive me right out in the middle of winter. Make sure the tubes are not burned through also.

For $300 its a deal. It looks to be in great shape.

We make these. We're still around and have parts for it. It looks like a FW3000 with the sunburst door. Make sure the label is still on the back.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have the exact stove sitting in my family room.I have owned it for several years and have been really pleased with it.overnight burns are easy to achieve and it will put out plenty of heat.I have never had any problems with the tubes or anything. The only thing I have done to stove is replace the door gasket.

The tubes in mine look like they would be easy to replace because the have cotter pins in each end that i think when removed would let the tubes come out from inside the stove.I have never removed them because they all appear to be in good condition.

Because of the way my house is built I couldnt heat entire house with it but stove would run you out of my family room /kitchen area.
I have installed a wood furnace in another area of house but keep the stove hooked up and ready to go if ever needed.

If stove is in good condition I would recommed purchase,I cant remember what I paid for mine new but I think it was around $800-$1000
