gatkeper1, what do you think this bar fits? The 17 means it is a 17"er, should be pretty obvious, 8=.058 gauge, RN=Round Nose, D=3/8 pitch. Don`t know what a BO83 mount is but it seems likely that this bar is for a Swede saw with the .058 gauge, I can`t find any info on it. How old does it appear to be? Russ

17 inch---------8= .058 gauge--------RN= symetrical replaceable sprocketnose-----------
D= 3/8 pitch nose----------B083 is the bar tail mount pattern, trouble is the 2003 book does not list that pattern, no Bs or no 083s.

It must be an old one. But the .058 gauge would probably indicate a European saw.

Maybe someone has got a real old book lying around. (You there Fish?)

Or go the Oregon Site and look at the dimensions of the mount patterns, that may help you zero in.

Its an odd one thats for sure...I have 1975/76/79 and 97 Oregon catalogs. Its not in any of those.
It can't be that old a bar because it has the current style replaceable nose.
Your guess is probably correct about it being for a euro saw.
It was "thrown in" a deal with a Pioneer saw, but it surely wont fit that.
With my luck its probably for a Czech saw
