I have seen a lot of comments on here about OWB 's but I haven't seen anything on what you guys have to do to them for maintance. I read somewhere you to test the water and add anti corrosion cemicals. I have been thinking of installing a pressurized system because I have heard that they reguire less maintance and less wood.

Pressurized systems are more complicated than non pressurized, and of course there is always the remote possibility of a stuck valve and a big boom. Pressurized vs non pressurized has nothing to do with wood consumption

As fas as chemicals go, just flush the old water out and add new water and a gallon of anti corrosive every year, thats done.

As far as maintenance, you need to clean the ashes out every week and clean all the ashes out at the end of the season and oil the fire box. Man thats tough.
