Hello, I have a very large pine tree in my front yard which looked like it died over the winter (needles at top are brown) today I noticed that his neighbor also is getting this way and that there is yellowish shavings like sawdust at his base. Do you think we have termintes? I know I am going to have to have both removed - but do to their size I was waiting - it would cost about 400$ each. They are that big.

Although you didn't say, I wonder if the damage you are seeing to the needles is from road salt spray. That is common at this time of year. The wood you see would, in this case, be secondary with borers or other bugs moving to attack a weakened tree. More info please.

pine trees dying

I don't think it can be road salt - I live in South
Florida we dont' get alot of ice :)
but I do think it might be something like a Bug
I was told by someone that I need to get those trees
out ASAP before it spreeds to my other trees.
