Discovered the hard way that a pole pruner guide bar is unsuitable for a gas engine chainsaw. I put a stubby on my Mac tophandle and the tip wore down at a great rate. Don't seem to be hard surfaced like a conventional bar.

He was handy with the stubby...................................................

Maybe it was just a cheapo.

If you used a bar from one of those cheap electric pole saws it doesn't surprise me. They're not engineered for that. If you get a Stihl pole saw you can use a bar meant for the ms200. I have a ht250 pole saw and I put a 16" bar that's identical to the one on my ms200t on it and it pulls it very well, however it is a 40cc pole saw.
