Poor mans squish band cutter

Rednecked an end cap poly pipe, cutter is worn raker flat file i grind into shape.
Chattered due to some nicks on the squish from bearing thrown around when piston seized on this junk cylinder.
Otherwise cuts good, only downside is probably measuring depth of cut.
Need to figure easier way to measure, putting it on the case back and forth is time consuming

I like the idea, saw one guy on utube with a similar method of cutting squish bands, I have different size mandrels that fit on my lathe and a dial indicator to trim the base so I get the squish I'm looking for using a base gasket.
