8hp. Horizontal Briggs engine - flat head; Both Intake & Exhaust valves lapped up with course and then fine; valve clearance as per specification; both valve seats tight and in sound condition; new spark plug, new head gasket; magnito cleaned and air space set correctly; STILL HESTITATES TO RUN AND KEEPS POPPING THROUGH THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST; METAL FLYWHEEL CLEANED AND NEW TIMING KEY SET;

Any suggestions ?

cam out of time a tooth on the crank? I had one on a trac vac i fought for a while, turns out someoen put a new rod in it and didn't get the crank back in the right spot.
 
What is the backround of this engine? Did you do all of this work yourself? Recheck your flywheel key, it may have sheared again due to improper tightening. Give us
some backround, like it was running fine until....I just bought it... etc.
