pruning black walnut tree help

Well planted the trees so when my kids are my age they can enjoy or sell them. Got about 20 of them all doing well about 20 plus feet and 7-9 years old. Questing is the lower limbs about 6 plus feet up its time for them to go and form the trunk and crown much better. Question is there a better time of year or way to prune black walnut or treat the like any other tree.

If you do not want regrowth wait until late summer.

Do not take too much at once--<1/3, and leave >2/3 with branches.
