So this is low traffic and I am new, but I have a question.
I compete in collegiate timbersports as a newbie.
Our team is looking to add some new racing axes for chopping, we already have three that are used exclusively for practice. The problem is sourcing new stuff and making it fit our people.
At 6'5" with lots of arms, a normal Ox-head comp axe is right on with a 31" handle. Our female team members have to choke so far up on those axes being 5'5" that they are searching for their own stubbies. There has to be a better option.
Can anyone point me towards resources for racing axes besides Bailey's and Highland Woodworking? Guidance on grinds for different woods/conditions would be appreciated too.
Thanks.
