Thought I would pass on some of my stupidity.I have a 372 xp that blew a piston.Got new piston and rings,honed cylinder,pulled crank to check for debree etc.Put it all together ran great! Then it stopped.MOREL OF THE STORY! check the damn muffler for pieces of blown metal.Sucked that stuff right into the cylinder.Lucky the rings are good and piston will work for a while,I think.:bang:

I here you,rebuilding a tore up saw is a project for sure.
I did an old olympyk 264,it runs well now,but I replaced alot of parts and it took alot of Patience.

It happens......I always rinse out the muffler can with solvent and dry with compressed air as pieces like to stick to the inside of the muffler until the muffler heats up.
