Has anybody experimented with modding the 009-012 series saws? I was thinking that maybe the reed valve is the limiting factor on their performance, but thought it might be worthwhile to ask anyway. I know the 012 has an extra muffler port, and the increased displacement might make that worth messing with a bit. Any thoughts?

I have never modded a saw, but am starting to get interested in some mild cylinder changes. Thanks.

The little Stihls are really too small to get involved modifying.I used to put reeds in the "Open Class" hot saws, where extensive mods were worth it.
The 020 Stihl is a small saw used by Pro's and very light.
