Of the saws I've owned

I love the Dolmar 120 Super and 343 at idle, they thump like a harley

Reving the saw, husky 242

all out I like the husqvarna 262xp and the whistle of the 254xp..still 4-strokin out of the cut

Loud...any old Mac...those engineers must have been deaf.

For me, I like to hear a saw being run by someone else. Maybe 60 yds. away, and over a saddle or behind a knoll, so the sound is indirect. I like to hear the engine pulled slightly below its torque peak, doing all it can to get there. Good stuff...

In all honesty, I love that zoomied-101, but the stocker sounds better. The lumpy idle of a big-inch, high compression Mac is the sweetest music...

I'm a MAC man and to me a MAC's exhaust is to chainsaw as a Harley's is to a motorcycle and a P&W radial's exhaust is to an airplane. However, i am going to have to go with Wendell. Ron

At idle: Sachs Dolmar 166 hands down.

That would also tend to be my pick in the cut but I'm going to have to give that a little more thought.

And Kart motors are to Mac's as Buells are to Harleys

I know ST will agree with me but the sweet sound of a MS 250 :)

Wish I had a vid camera to show how sweet it is :)

And yes, I was overusing the oiler in this video.

Howdy,
I see they already got mentioned but, the 2100 Husqvarna always sounded like bank to me.

Yes-sir,

them are right up there.

I still like the note off my 153s though. When they echo off the side of the barn you would swear there was a fueler back there.

My ported 390 has a really nice sound in the cut. That nice confident, not going to be chasing holding wood in a big old cobby fir sound. I like that. Ported 66's are the same way. Just sing through that back cut.

For me, it's got to be a 372XP, hands down. It's the Mustang of chainsaws. I'm a GM kind of guy, but nothing sounds like a Mustang.

Gotta give you a shout on this. I'm a GM at a Ford dealership.
