Should I try cable/bracing these trees or do they need to come down?

There are a few very large trees (very, very close to the house) with V-stem trunks that I'm, ideally, looking to get braced to strengthen them so mainly they don't pose a danger to use and the house. The other (albeit more expensive) option is to remove them.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Should I be concerned with them? I'm in the Northeast and high winds have increasingly become a concern.

It looks like you got tulip poplars. Two and a four trunk configuration. Each trunk is its own tree joined and sharing the same stump area. Cable systems are used primarily for holding weak branch attachments from splitting on a single tree. Holding two or four trees together from failing at the stump is possible with the right knowledge and hardware. Please consult with an arborist familiar with your project type. The advantage is the tree trunks are close together with good access.
