Mixing valves

Cant belive this has progressed this far with out mention of blending valves. You need to install an automatic blending valve to protect yourself and others from being scalded. Mine is a TACO brand and has worked perfectly so far. Blends in cold only when needed, mine is set to start blending at 130.

Figured that they would go with any standard design hot water heater. Our hot water heater already had a Honeywell mixing valve above the tank. I also installed a Honeywell mixing valve designed for radiant floor heating after the heat excahnger for the floor. It has a dial for 100-140 deg. F. I keep ours at 100 deg as we have mainly tile and hardwood flooring. They both work great.
