Bought an XP-1020 at an auction last week along with 4 other saws.

The carburetor was loose and after checking it out and it looks like it may only need a couple of gaskets and some adjustments.

I was wondering if anyone knows the correct way for the idle needle and spring to be installed in the air intake elbow. Here is a picture and how the spring was between the seat and needle. This doesn't seem right to me but maybe it is ok.

The large hose that attaches to the elbow was way too long and folded over twice and pinched in two places so the idle bypass couldn't work properly. I wonder if that is why someone tried to tinker with the carb in the first place?

Also, what is the difference between a XP-1020 and a Super XP-1020? I noticed that the XP-1020 can use up to a 30 inch bar and the Super XP-1020 can use a 60 inch bar. That is quite a difference somewhere apparently.
