I need help!
I have 14 large trees to be pruned--
Some contractors want to use spikes--my trees are healthy--are spikes
harmful??
Thanks
Meryl

DO NOT LET ANYBODY SPIKE YOUR TREES!! :blob2: :blob2:
If some idiot wants to use spikes on a trimming job, he has NO BUSINESS IN YOUR TREES!! You can look up the ISA (International
Society of Arborists) online and they have a page where you can find CERTIFIED arborists in your area. You did the right thing by asking! I thank you and your trees will thank you!

Spikes for trimming- doesn't know how to climb.
Doesn't know how to climb- probably never learned anything else regarding proper tree maintenance.
Ask these guys if they'd like to be climbed with spikes!

NO SPIKES !!! Im sure all of has used them, untill we learned what was going on. Yes I guess im just speeking for myself. But then again, my first paying job in tree work was shaking pecan trees, & did not use spikes. Did not have none either.

So anyway, Meryl, to answer your question now that we've hung those clowns out to dry- yes. The wounds created by the gaffs are an entry point for disease and insects and your next posts here would be titled "Whats wrong with my trees?":(
