Steel cylinder lining?

Did any chainsaws ever use a steel cylinder lining? I know some were cast iron. I saw an ad for an SP125 with a steel lining and thought it was incorrect. Turns out it is cast iron, but still wonder if steel was ever used? I'm guessing the graphite in cast iron adds lubricity.
