Hey folks! Thanks for the great forum. This is my first post here.

I've got a Stihl 021 and while rebuilding the carb, I noticed the fuel vent tube laying on the bench. I tried to push it back on, but it kept falling off. The saw has a cone shaped nipple for the tube (unless something broke off) and I trimmed the tube a bit and pushed it on and it split.

I just ordered a new one, but was wondering how one would get this tube to stay on. Did something break off of mine or is it really just that cone shaped nipple sticking up? Do I just push it on and hope for the best?

Thanks!

Don't "trim" the expensive stuff!!!!!!

The new hose will be supple and grip it, as long as your stub is still long enough!!!! Don't forget those little screws inside too!!!!

Are we talking about chainsaws here??? :embarrassed:

I'll have to ask my wife if my stub is long enough!

Kidding aside, thanks for the info...
