Hey guys, have searched here as well as google and need help. Purchased an 026 here from another member. Great saw, wanted to make it better so I did a simple muffler mod and put the saw back together. After a brief tune the saw runs and sounds great but is spraying bar oil off the saw way too heavily as well as having bar oil dripping out from beneath the bar/ clutch cover. What is going on here? Thanks for your help!

The oiler on the 026 runs constantly, not just when you're on the throttle like other models.

Understood and I have run this saw prior to the muffler mod with appropriate oil flow present. For some reason it is now excessively pumping oil .

Next step is to pull the clutch drum off, remove the E clip and slide the drum off, likely have to remove the clutch carrier and shoes as well to actually see the oil pump. I think, not totally sure but most likely that deep style clutch drum has cut into the pump housing. That type of clutch drum is for the PRO series and MS260 adjustable oil pumps.

Before and after cleanup. No obvious damage other than an indentation to the plastic from the clutch drum as far as I can tell.

Thanks for all your help. Only issue I can find is the side plate is warped and letting a lot of oil beneath it, which is wasting the bar oil and dumping it out the bottom. No good, especially when using platinum bar oil! Easy/cheap fix, thanks to all of you!
