I am new to this site and have gotten a lot of info. I have been working on a Stihl 031AV. I have replaced all the fuel lines/impulse line, and filter rebuilt the carb, and installed a nova module to replace the points. i read the older post about reversing the wires and it runs strong at wot but wont idle at all. If anyone has any ideas they would sure help me Thanks.

Well... I hate to say it, but if you are sure of the carb and the impulse lines etc, it's time for a pressure and vacuum test... It's really the only way to rule in or out the crankcase gaskets, seals and boot integrity. You could try just replacing the seals and tightening down the cylinder screws, but..

That helped me out a lot. I pulled the cylinder off of it and the gasket was leaking real bad. So I got a new one and my stihls is back in business. Thanks a lot
