Sold Stihl 038 Mag carburetor

I have had a lot of trouble with my 038 Magnum and want to rule out the carb as the problem. I prefer a bolt on and go carb, but if you know it is good, I don't mind putting a kit in it. I don't want one with the "extra" port on it (my saw is old). I could also use the screw that holds the flywheel cover on that also works as a pivot for the brake handle. Thanks!
