The check valve flaps usually come in the kits, but you have to punch the nozzle out to replace them.

An update
The OEM Walbro kit arrived today. I took out the welch plug and found a tiny speck of dirt in one of the holes. When I removed the gauze filter beneath the metering jet I found some dirt too. I reassembled the carb, with no fuel in it, six pulls got it to bark, a seventh got it running.
The carb adjustments are now working properly. Tiny increments have a big influence on how the saw runs and idles.
I think we should have a pretty reliable saw saw for a while now with its new bearings, seals, gaskets, fuel and impulse lines, filters and carb kit. We will give it a try again on the mill soon.
