Evening everyone!
I recently picked up an 084 and just pulled the muffler to take a little looksie tonight. I wanna start by saying that while I’m pretty alright with all the external stuff I don’t have a whole lot of experience messing with pistons and cylinders (I’ve only done 3 or 4 and always with parts that didn’t need to be cleaned up before installation) and I’m looking for a little sage wisdom. Compression seems alright but I haven’t had a chance to put a gauge on it yet and I’ve never worked on a saw this big.. so really I’m just guessing but it’s a bear to pull over. I’ve attached a few photos of what I could see through the exhaust port as well as a few of the plug. This needs to be pulled apart and cleaned up, correct? New rings at a bare minimum? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
