Thats A 460. Look at the plastic flywheel.

Check the crank seals for an air leak.Make sure the carb is not adjusted too lean.

Will do. Saw only was used one day and make 8 cuts in a 24" tree. Pulled through wood great but then couldn't get it fired back up. Fuel was mixed properly. I know an oem stihl part wouldn't score that fast.

All cylinders and pistons score quick with a major air leak or straight gassed. With OEM cylinder you stand a better chance to clean off aluminum transfer from the piston. The reasoning being far better quality in plating.

Gotcha. Hopefully I can figure it out. I'll rebuild it again soon. Will order 460 parts for this bastardized saw. I bought it put together this way.

On post 15 the intake boot looks rough in the pic. I would look at it for tears.
