Stihl S2 21" 3/8 bar - will the nose handle a 404 chain??

Will the nose handle a .404 chain or not??

What's an S2? Is it a S-10? If so, those are large (MS 880) mount bars. Many of the short ones were solid nose, so any pitch chain should work.

Yes a S2 mount is a MS880 / 076 etc mount. If it was a hard nose tip I wouldn't be asking !!

Its a large mount bar listed as - 3/8 .063 21" 10 tooth roller tip bar! But was wondering if "unofficially" would work with .404 Not listed as a .404 bar

Definately NO-GO if the tip is a sprocket one, unless you change the nose sprocket to a .404.

If the tip really is a roller one, it would work with any pitch, and the bar shouldn't be listed as a 3/8" one, and there should of course not be a tooth count for the tip.

Sprocket tips are pitch sensitive, true roller tips are not.

If the question is about an ad, the seller may not know those differences, resulting in a misleading listing.......
