sucker trees. tree identification

I have a tree that i don't what it is on the far side of my lot. all around it little sucker trees sprout up. i have lived here two summers and this is the second summer for these to pop up. I've notice though that they are now sprouting up over 100 feet away from the tree and not only that they are on the other side of the driveway from the subject tree. Is it possible that these are from another tree that was removed? can these roots grow that far? FYI, i live in tulsa, ok

1. what kind of tree is this?
2. i would like to keep these suckers from growing back. methods?
3. i am concerned this tree is growing its roots into my foundation as several suckersare around the outside wall of my house. do i need to get rid of it all together?

I would just herbicide the unwanted sprouts & seedlings and be done with them.

Looks like a crabapple from the pcs. I wouldn't worry about the foundation, it's a long ways away. Shooters just come with the territory, but they're nice little trees.
