suggestions for dolmar 6400 / makita 6401 big bore kit?

Yeah, those screws are not easy to get to, kind of have to angle up and to the back of the saw, I use a pen light.

Maybe you need to clean the carb. I know on my BB it took a lot of leaning to get it to 12.5K.
 
Two tanks of gas through it so far and it seems to be warming up quite nicely.

pulling a 20" bar I'm unable to stall it unless I am really aggressive or get the chain pinched.

When I first tested it after the swap the compression release was optional and you could start it by drop-pulling it. Now the compression release is becoming more mandatory and starting is best done on the ground.

By the way... the larger fuel capacity of the bigger frame dolmar saws is great. I get a lot more cut time out of a tank with the 6400-84cc than with my 5105.... the 84cc doesn't seem too fuel inefficient to me.

It ended up being tuned very close and just a hair rich. It 4-strokes out of the wood and just occassionally when cutting.
