I transplanted this sycamore tree about a year ago. It is about 15 foot tall with about a 5 inch diameter. It was looking good all last year but noticed a few months ago that it had a vertical crack in the trunk. Is this tree dying or can it be revived? If so what can I do to save it?

Looks like a severe case of sunscald, hopefully your tree will out grow the wound. Maintain proper tree health, it's why we wrap thin bark trees.

Agree; post a pic of the base showing the first root coming off the trunk for more info.

I don't know if this will help. Is was raining all day so it was pretty muddy
