Tachometer on Honda powered sawmill?

So just wondering if anyone had tried putting a tachometer on a band mill. On larger wood sometimes I end up out pushing the power if you know what I mean.Prob my poor hearing and wearing earplugs keeps me from catching the rpm drop fast enough. Not a big deal just thought if I could visually watch the RPMs I could saw more efficiently . Oldbev
 
Yes, I've done it long ago, these days you can buy electronic tachometers that are easy to install but I haven't used one in MANY years.

I just listen to the engine and can tell if I'm going the right speed while milling, I'd rather be watching the band and see what it's doing.
