Does anyone have a opinion on a TPS-2501 Tanaka pole saw?

Told my wife I thought I needed one for Christmas. Do I?

I recently got a Tanaka 650 saw and am pretty impressed with the way its made and runs.

Dan,

Just accept that you lie to your wife, all men do.

If you want one, why not.

I really want one, so I must need it, right????

Tanakas are about 1/2 the price of Echo or Stihl and if they are any good I sure could use one.

Russo equipment has them for 299.00

I borrowed a Tanaka PM 25 which isn't a true polesaw it really a hedgecutter on a stick that you can put a saw on. I needed it for a job and the thing wouldn't start at all first time and last i ever use a Tanaka.

The Tanaka saw I have wouldn't start when I got it either.
But it had been left with gas in the tank for several years.
The fuel line had actually rotted into. The carburetor was gummed up and the fuel filter had some kind of gunk on it that made it look 3 times bigger than it was.
After I fixed all that it starts right off and cuts good.

Tanaka makes great equipment.

it's a shame they don't have the dealer network they used to.used to even make i nice little outboard motor for small boats.back in the day there stuff ran circles around echo.
