This tower poplar’s trunk split and now it has two main branches growing from it’s trunk. Should I do nothing and let it keep growing? Or is this something to be concerned about? My worry is that it might be more susceptible to snapping during a wind storm as the tree gets larger.

Prune out the less dominant leader.
Do you think it would be best to wait until fall or just do it now? I’m worried it will kill the tree, but you’re the expert lol
Prune in Fall after leaves drop.
