Hello,

I have an old large Silver Maple in the backyard. I have it trimmed every other year at least but I am always worried a little about the two branches overhanging the house (mainly the one). Most arborists I have talked to said it is relatively healthy for its age and looks fine and I shouldn't take the limbs away. One arborist said I should take the whole tree down. There is one spot on a limb growing away from the house where there is a larger mushroom growing. Thank you for your help!

Great photos, but hard for me to tell how close those limbs are to your roof.
If the limbs closest to your house were to fall, would they hit the house roof, or the patio roof?

the limb on the left (when facing the house) hangs over the main house roof and grows straight up after it reaches over the roof of the house, while the right limb is over the patio roof but a lot lower overall. So yes, they would hit the roof.
