I have another Jonsered 625(my cheapie/beater) that I am working on. I hope to have it running for less than $50 total investment.

I can't seem to kill the spark. My switch works and I have ground on the coil to the kill wire, but it won't stop sparking.

It is the 2 piece ignition system.

What could be causing my grief? I have tried two other switches with the same result.

looking at the flywheel the trigger module is on the left side, right side is coil. should have 2 wires coming out of the module.

sounds like your switch is correct, there should be a wire from the module to the coil, it's routed in the grove below the flywheel, then meets a short wire from the coil and screwed together. fastening your switch to the case will ground it.

unplug the switch and take a jumper wire and plug into wire from the trigger module, ground against the engine. switch may be bad.
