Job opportunities. These are seasonal but considered permanent so benefits are included. It's a way to get started and get a year round position eventually, with promotion, if you don't mind relocating.

The Forest Service is Hiring Permanent Seasonal Employees
Permanent Seasonal Positions Open Oct. 19 - Nov. 22, 2023 on USAJOBS!
The Forest Service is transitioning positions that have historically been temporary seasonal forestry aid and forestry tech positions (non-fire) to permanent seasonal positions to establish a more permanent workforce.
Jobs are available in a variety of exciting and rewarding Forestry (non-fire) occupations such as Forestry Aid, GS-0462-03/04/05 with promotion potential to GS-05 and Forestry Technicians GS-0462-05 with promotion up to GS-07. Positions will be a 13/13 schedule on initial appointment, 13 pay periods on, 13 pay periods off (6 months on and 6 months off), with potential to be adjusted.
Forestry aids and technicians work in a variety of natural resource and recreation areas such as timber, wildlife, watershed, botany, silviculture, recreation, visitor services, and more. As a forestry aid or technician, you may survey the ecosystem, build and maintain trails, implement restorative and protective projects, manage the growth of trees and other vegetation, recruit and train volunteers, or work directly with the public. You will get to make an impact on our nations forests by reducing threat of wildfires, improve habitats for wildlife including threatened and endangered species, decrease the spread of invasive plant species, and much more.
